Air India, India’s premier global carrier, has unveiled its new Airbus A350-900 on the Delhi-London Heathrow route. This twice-daily service marks the debut of the airline’s revamped long-haul experience and signifies a key milestone in its ongoing transformation.
The upgraded A350 cabin features a modern three-class layout: Business Class with full-flat beds, an enhanced Premium Economy offering, and cutting-edge Economy seats. Passengers will benefit from a state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system boasting over 3,000 hours of content, soon to be complemented by onboard Wi-Fi*.
Business and Premium Economy travelers will receive exclusive amenity kits designed by Ferragamo and TUMI, alongside Air India’s new Vista Verve service, which includes upgraded chinaware, tableware, glassware, and bedding. Additionally, the flight and cabin crew will be dressed in new uniforms designed by Manish Malhotra.
Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of Air India, remarked, “Introducing the flagship A350s on the Delhi-London Heathrow route is a major milestone for us. It reflects our dedication to elevating the travel experience to world-class standards and surpassing customer expectations as we continue to expand and modernize our fleet.”
The A350-900 features 28 private suites with full-flat beds in Business Class, 24 seats in Premium Economy with extra legroom, and 264 spacious Economy seats. The advanced Panasonic eX3 inflight entertainment system includes HD screens and a vast selection of content in 13 international and 8 Indian regional languages, with a dedicated section for children’s programming.
Passengers can enjoy a diverse menu that caters to both Indian and international tastes, served on exquisitely designed chinaware inspired by Indian aesthetics, providing a luxurious and culturally immersive dining experience.
Having introduced the A350 earlier this year for domestic and short-haul international flights, Air India will now use the A350-900 to replace existing Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft on 14 of its 17 weekly flights to London, adding an additional 336 seats weekly on the Delhi-London Heathrow route.
