AVIAREPS, the leading international representation and marketing company for aviation, tourism, hospitality, and food & beverage brands, has appointed Frederick Overton as Global Head of Cargo. In this role, Overton will oversee and expand AVIAREPS' cargo division, enhancing existing airline relationships and bolstering air cargo expertise worldwide.
As a vital component of global trade, the air cargo sector enables rapid transport of high-value and time-sensitive goods, including pharmaceuticals. Despite representing only 1% of total freight by weight, air cargo accounts for 35% of global trade by value, making it crucial for industries reliant on quick and reliable supply movement. Passenger airlines also benefit from cargo income, utilizing aircraft belly-holds to maximize asset efficiency.
Under Overton's leadership, AVIAREPS will leverage its aviation specialists' extensive experience to connect airlines with freight forwarders and logistics providers, ensuring smooth transport. The company’s air cargo services encompass sales, reservations, customer service, and total cargo management.
Edgar Lacker, CEO of AVIAREPS, expressed enthusiasm for Overton's appointment, highlighting his significant experience in the air cargo sector as instrumental for the division's growth. "Cargo is a fast-paced industry with great growth potential, and our local experts will utilize their connections to help clients expand their cargo operations globally," Lacker stated.
Frederick Overton remarked on the dynamic nature of the cargo industry and its adaptability to changing consumer demands, particularly in the age of digitalization. He emphasized the importance of building strong global connections through AVIAREPS' extensive office network, enabling the company to provide exceptional service to its cargo clients.
