Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa, expressed his congratulations to the Permanent Council for Hotel and Resort Permits and the tourism private sector during a regular meeting with the council.
Minister Issa praised the collaborative efforts of the private sector and the cooperation with relevant authorities, attributing them to Egypt's deserving position among the world's leading tourism destinations. He highlighted the ongoing cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Civil Aviation to expand the number of available seats on flights from countries with a significant influx of tourists visiting Egypt.
The statement further emphasized the remarkable growth in the number of incoming tourists and the duration of their stays, along with the consistent and diverse composition of tourism markets. The Ministry had initially projected 15 million tourists to visit Egypt in 2023, and with the continued strong performance in the second half of the year, the country remains on track to achieve its target.
