Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, has unveiled its traffic statistics for August 2024. The airline carried 1.7 million passengers during the month, maintaining a robust average load factor of 89%, reflecting strong performance throughout the summer holiday period.
Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, commented: "Our August passenger figures show a significant increase from last year, highlighting our ongoing growth momentum. Year-to-date, we've welcomed 12.0 million passengers, a 36% rise from the previous year. Our rolling 12-month passenger count has reached over 17 million, nearly 70% higher than the entire 2022."
"Despite expanding our capacity compared to 2023, we sustained a healthy load factor of 89% in August. This performance underscores the increasing preference for Etihad among travelers."
"Our fleet has expanded to 95 aircraft from 79 in the same period last year, thanks to the collective effort of our team. In August, we introduced the last two of the six A321neos expected in 2024. Additionally, we now serve 10 more passenger destinations than a year ago, further strengthening our network and bolstering Abu Dhabi’s status as a global aviation hub and a premier tourist destination."
