With Christmas quickly approaching, Lufthansa has started the festive flying season and brings several small surprises for passengers, both at the airport before departure and during the flight.
Before starting their journey, Lufthansa lounge guests are welcomed in the festively decorated First Class premises in Frankfurt and Munich. A special Christmas dish served in Frankfurt’s First Class Lounge and First Class Terminal is roasted Christmas duck with caramelized red cabbage, potato cranberry-dumplings and goose liver Figaro. All Lufthansa lounges offer different culinary treats like sweet pastries such as Stollen cake, roasted almonds and fresh-baked Christmas cookies.
Passengers of all travel classes can also enjoy the pre-Christmas time on board. They will all receive small chocolate gifts on nearly every Lufthansa flight until 26 December. Moreover, the cabins of all Lufthansa aircraft are festively decorated with Advent Wreaths.
A special gift is waiting for the younger Lufthansa passengers of all travel classes on board, starting on 12 December. Paul and Sam, little Christmas teddy bears, dressed in a thick hooded coat to keep out the cold will be given to children. Moreover, children joining their parents for a lounge visit receive small gift bags filled with a colouring book, nice surprises and puzzles.
On 24 December, right in time for the beginning of the Christmas holidays, Lufthansa will launch its new nonstop connection between Frankfurt and Ivalo. According to folktales, this city in the North of Finland is very close to the home of Santa Claus. LH846 will be one of the longest Lufthansa flights in Europe. It will depart every Saturday morning at 9.40h and touchdown in Ivalo at 14.10h.
