Rishikesh is primarily a tourist spot, a religious destination, and therefore business activities will few in numbers. “Being primarily a leisure and well-being destination, Rishikesh attracts majority of leisure and religious tourists. The annual percentage that our hotel generated from MICE last year was around 15-20%,” justifies Sahil Gulati, Director of the Hotel. But that doesn’t deter them from maintaining the facilities. “ We have all the facilities in place to ensure that corporate events and meetings go on smoothly. Our fur banquet halls namely Utsav, Nimanantran, Aamantran, Vichar Vimarsh also offer top-notch service and amenities to conduct such events,” says Sahil. But he also is hoping for a stupendous 2015 for the MICE segment of his hotel, “With the emerging interest in Rishikesh as a destination among corporate, we are very positive & confident on the expectations from MICE 2015.” Talking about challenges, “ since our hotel is completely vegetarian and liquor is not allowed in the hotel, we have been unable to host various MICE events at the hotel. In hindsight, this has actually helped us in creating a niche for wellness retreat among business houses.”
