Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the largest hospitality company in India, is driving its growth momentum in H1 FY 2025, achieving 35 new signings and 12 hotel openings. This expansion elevates IHCL's portfolio to a total of 345 hotels, bolstered by an impressive pipeline of 115 hotels.
Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President - Real Estate & Development at IHCL, remarked, “In response to the thriving travel and tourism sector, IHCL has recorded remarkable growth with 35 new signings in the first half of this fiscal year. These signings reflect the diverse representation of our brandscape and underscore the trust our partners place in us, along with the premium positioning of each of our brands.”
She further noted, “Seventy percent of the new signings are in emerging markets beyond the top ten cities in India, including Srinagar, Varanasi, Mangalore, Kanpur, Mysore, Hosur, and Lonavala. As part of our international growth strategy, we have expanded our footprint in the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East, with new signings in Bhutan and Bahrain. Additionally, we are pursuing selective investments, including a 200-key project in Ranchi under the Taj brand.”
Ms. Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – Hotel Openings & New Businesses, added, “Our hotel openings in the first half align with our goal of launching two hotels per month. We have ventured into new markets with the opening of a Taj hotel in Patna, SeleQtions in Mahabaleshwar, and Ginger in Nagpur. We have also strengthened our presence in Srinagar, Gangtok, Udaipur, Jamshedpur, Coimbatore, and Delhi.”
She continued, “In Q2, we launched the reimagined Gateway with a new hotel in Bekal and transitioned four hotels in Nashik, Coonoor, Madurai, and Chikmagalur.”
