India and the United Kingdom (UK) have expressed their commitment to accelerating the ongoing negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA), announced Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, on Tuesday. Goyal, who was on a brief visit to the UK, took to Twitter to share the outcome of his meeting with his UK counterpart, Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch. The two ministers agreed to maintain their efforts toward achieving a mutually advantageous agreement. Currently, India and the UK are engaged in the 11th round of FTA talks, which commenced last Wednesday and are scheduled to conclude on Friday. In his tweet, Goyal stated, "Held a meeting with the UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade Kemi Badenoch in London. Discussed how both sides can add further momentum to the India-UK Free Trade Agreement negotiations for a mutually beneficial deal."
