The land of creation is gaining impressive popularity in India. The dawn of 2016 has witnessed a good amount of Indian tourists visiting Israel with a phenomenal growth of 5% from January through June 2016.
Exploring a new country is always on peoples bucket lists and as a destination that attracted over 3 million visitors last year, it is evident that Israel has something excellent to offer.
The Israel Ministry of Tourism Office in India organised the Five City Road Show on 1,2,3,4 and 5th August in Mumbai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai respectively to introduce leading Israeli tour operators that are new to the Indian market with the local tour operators and travel agents to encourage face-to-face interactions and promoting Israel as a preferred destination.
The event was extremely successful with the maximum footfall of renowned companies from the travel industry leading to over 800 agents in attendance. This is the first time the Ministry of Tourism Road Show had 6 Israeli tour operators and El Al Airlines participate in a road show in India, further emphasising the importance of Indian outbound travel market. The event all across India was an elegant juncture with meet and greets between travel representatives over cocktails and dinner.
When asked about his strategy in promoting Israel as a destination in India Mr. Hassan Madah, Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism in India, said “Israel has been gaining popularity in India from 2015 and we are happy to see Indians travelling to Israel in big numbers, which can be seen with the increase of 5% from January to June 2016. Israel has something for everyone from adventure, Dead Sea, deserts and mountains, culture, fashion, nightlife. We work towards adapting strategies to further promote various travel offerings to Israel in India.”
In order to provide more information to the traveller, the Israel Ministry of Tourism has launched a new website www.goisrael.com/in with information about Israel as a destination, the different cities and locations as well as connecting visitors with Travel Agents and Tour Operators that offer different types of tours to Israel.
