The airport is set to cut down travel time to Shirdi from Mumbai to just 40 minutes. Right now, the same distance--238 km--is covered in about five hours by road. This airport project has partly been funded by the Saibaba Sansthan Trust.
The expect passenger traffic of 700-800 daily.
