The Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS) successfully hosted its second Destination Showcase Event in Bengaluru on October 1, 2024, highlighting the attractions of North and Coastal Karnataka. Building on the success of the inaugural showcase in March, which featured Chikmagalur and Sakleshpur, this event attracted significant interest from industry stakeholders.
Inaugurated by Mr. Srinivasulu (IFS), Commissioner of the Department of AYUSH, Government of Karnataka, the event featured key attendees including Mr. K. Syamaraju, President of KTS and newly elected President of the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI). Dr. K.V. Rajendra (IAS), Director of the Department of Tourism, also engaged with attendees, discussing marketing strategies and the effectiveness of the showcase.
Supported by various government bodies like the Ministry of Tourism and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation, the initiative highlighted the unique tourist destinations, rich cultural heritage, tranquil beaches, and vibrant local arts of North and Coastal Karnataka.
Mr. K. Syamaraju emphasized, “This collaboration between KTS and various tourism bodies offers travel agents, tour operators, and hospitality professionals a unique opportunity to uncover the hidden gems of the region. By showcasing its attractions, we aim to unlock its potential and foster sustainable growth.”
The event attracted over 150 participants, including travel agents and industry professionals, who engaged in networking and B2B meetings. It showcased 23 leading destination management companies, hotels, resorts, and service providers from the area, promoting collaboration and partnerships.
The ‘Discover North & Coastal Karnataka’ event emphasized sustainable tourism and community engagement, providing valuable insights into the diverse travel experiences the region offers.
