As part of their 2023 marketing plans, the Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) India office has introduced a special K-Incentive Scheme to enhance the sales of Korean travel packages in the Indian market.
The initiative, targeted at travel agencies throughout India, was unveiled during an event in Mumbai, organized in collaboration with OTOAI.
Through the K-Incentive Scheme, KTO India aims to inspire travel agents across India as 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Korea.
The main advantages of the incentive scheme include providing travel agents with USD 30 per passenger as incentives and facilitating fast, easy, and hassle-free tour visa support for visitors traveling to Korea between June and December 2023.
In addition to promoting Seoul, KTO is also focused on highlighting regional destinations in Korea such as Busan, Gangwon province, and Jeollanam-do province. To qualify for the benefits of the K-Incentive Scheme, the itinerary needs to include any of these regional destinations.
During the launch event held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai, Myongkil Yun, Director of KTO India, expressed, "This is the first time any National Tourism Organization is introducing an incentive scheme for leisure travel packages in India, and this initiative comes at an opportune time as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two nations."
Riaz Munshi, President of OTOAI, also shared his thoughts on the launch, stating, "Korea has tremendous potential to grow in the Indian market, and I am confident that together we can generate substantial numbers for the destination. On behalf of OTOAI, I would like to express our gratitude to Korea Tourism for designing this incentive program exclusively for our members and entrusting OTOAI. I urge all members to wholeheartedly support the destination by recommending it to your clients. I assure you that your travelers will return with a unique and unforgettable experience in Korea."
To be eligible for participation in the K-Incentive Scheme, interested travel agencies are required to submit their marketing plans on or before June 14th, 2023. Yun further added, "South Korea is experiencing an increase in visitors from India this year, and we are eager to further amplify that with the launch of the K-Incentive Scheme. There is so much to see and do in Korea for visitors of all ages, and we are prepared to warmly welcome Indian travelers to Korea, where K-culture begins!"
