The Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) is making significant strides in promoting Rajasthan as a premier tourist destination. In line with this vision, a pivotal discussion session titled "Wedding in India - Opportunities in Rajasthan" was at Taj Sawai Hotel, Ranthambore. This event, organized jointly by FHTR and the Rajasthan Tourism Department, aimed to set the stage for the upcoming Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM).
The event began with key speakers outlining the exciting activities planned for the Travel Mart, followed by a screening of "Romance of Rajasthan," a film produced by Rajasthan Tourism. Attendees also viewed a showcase of various stakeholders' meets organized across different cities by FHTR.
Notable dignitaries present included Madhusudhan Singh Jadhawat, Assistant Director for Sawai Madhopur and Karauli, Department of Tourism; Kuldeep Singh Chandela, President of FHTR; Balendu Singh, Chairman of the Regional Committee for Ranthambore, FHTR; Arvind Jain, President of the Ranthambore Hotel Association; CA Virendra Singh Shekhawat, Secretary of FHTR; Mahendra Singh Rathore, President of RATO; Tarun Kumar Bansal, President of HRAR; and Ranvijay Singh, Secretary, HRAR.
This stakeholders' meet is part of the comprehensive preparations for the fourth Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM), scheduled to take place from September 13 to 15, 2024, at Birla Auditorium, Jaipur. With the theme "Wedding, Incentive, Conference, and Event," this edition of RDTM promises to be a grand showcase of Rajasthan's tourism potential. Over 200 stalls will feature more than 600 properties, attracting an anticipated 1,300 buyers and over 7,000 visitors.
Madhusudhan Singh Jadhav highlighted the growing significance of domestic tourists in Ranthambore, stating, "Ranthambore has become a year-round destination, with increasing tourist numbers each season. The area is also gaining prominence as a top destination for weddings. The government's commitment to developing tourist sites, including the renovation of 8-10 stepwells, is a testament to our dedication. We are also equipping locals with hospitality skills through training at the Hotel Management Institute."
Kuldeep Singh Chandela emphasized the forward-looking nature of the Travel Mart, saying, "The Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart is a platform for new directions and developments in tourism. This event will facilitate business exchanges between hoteliers and tour operators, propelling the state's tourism industry. Our focus this year is on promoting Rajasthan as a premier wedding destination."
Balendu Singh noted the increase in tourist traffic to Ranthambore and outlined ongoing efforts to enhance the visitor experience, including improved wildlife regulations and better connectivity.
