The seminar had four sessions of International Best Practices, Vision for India’s Natural Heritage & Adventure Tourism, Marketing Natural Heritage & Adventure Tourism and National Safety Guidelines & Current Trends respectively. The guest panel marked presence of H.E. Jorge J. C. Mendez, Ambassador, Embassy of the Republic of Peru, Mr. Johan Radcliffe, Co-owner and Founder, Dirty Boots, South Africa, Mr. Isra Stapanaseth, Director, Tourism Board of Thailand. The session was moderated by Mr. Mandip Singh Soin, Founding President, Ecotourism Society of India; Ms. Mridula Tangirala, Mr. Sanjay Basu, Chairman, CII Task Force on Adventure Tourism; Director- Operations, Taj Safaris; and Ajeet Bajaj, Sr. Vice President, ATOAI.
“India is blessed with 70% Himalayas and 7000 kms of coastal lines”, quoted in his special address by Mr. Suman Billa, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. While, Mr. Isra Stapanaseth, Director, Tourism Board of Thailand presented the concept of “Green Tourism, Voluntourism and Harmony with Nature” in Thailand. Mr. Johan Radcliffe, Co-owner and Founder, Dirty Boots talked about the safety measures and guidelines that are being practiced in South Africa for safe adventure activities. He also suggested for starting casualty funding which is already a part of South African Adventure tourism policy.
