During the prestigious press conference, the Honorable President of TAAI, Mr. Sunil Kumar R expressed his happiness over his recent meeting with Air India’s acceptance for remuneration of all IATA agencies irrespective of their volume for the improvement in National and International Passages sales.
TAAI lays emphasis on Air India to connect with many IATA agencies to allow them to ticket directly. The honorable President questioned that the fact that our national carrier isn’t sold straight by a large extent of IATA agencies in India.
At present, most of the agencies are obligated to get tickets from an intermediary instead of an Airline; hence the initiative of Air India shall prove to be a milestone for transformation in the current trends.
The resolution taken by Air India reflects the prominence of the Domestic Airline in India, which highlights its importance toward each Airline in its own nation.
The bonus 2 percent to all the IATA agencies is an exceptional move to propose Air India as the "market leadership" across India. The national carrier has an enormous reputation in most countries of the world. There is great amount of loyalty demonstrated from the Travel Agencies and passengers.
This step can turn the tables in favor of TAAI and Air India to provide the latter with a golden opportunity to stand triumphant in the markets, come what may.
“We highly appreciate and acknowledge this initiative from Air India and thank them to have considered this proposal from TAAI.
TAAI is delighted to be doing this for our members and for Air India."
