Following the success of the inaugural Taste of Shangri-La in 2023, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah and Shangri-La Al Husn are thrilled to announce the second edition of this exquisite culinary festival. From October 3 to 31, guests are invited to indulge in a month-long celebration featuring specially curated 6-course tasting menus at Muscat's premier dining venues. This gastronomic event will also include participation from other Shangri-La hotels across nine iconic destinations, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, London, Paris, New Delhi, Bangalore, and Istanbul.
In Muscat, culinary enthusiasts can explore diverse flavors at five specialty dining venues: Bait Al Bahr, Capri Court, Chow Mee, Sultanah, and Aangan by Rohit Ghai. Each restaurant will present an impressive 6-course tasting menu that highlights a fusion of traditional and modern cuisines, utilizing the freshest Omani ingredients. Renowned Chef Rohit Ghai will also be in Muscat from October 6 to 10 for a special ‘dine and meet’ event, showcasing his 6-course tasting menu at Aangan.
Philippe Kronberg, Resort General Manager of Shangri-La Muscat, expressed pride in the festival’s recognition across multiple destinations. “We invite diners to savor this unique opportunity to explore our diverse cuisines, right by the shores of Oman.”
Indian Elegance with Chef Rohit Ghai at Aangan
Chef Rohit Ghai will present contemporary Indian cuisine at Aangan from October 6 to 10, featuring both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Guests can expect an array of flavors, including sweet potato with Rajasthani chutney, Cafreal fish, chicken malai tikka, lamb kebab, and prawn moilee, accompanied by lentils, rice, and Chef’s selection of breads. For dessert, enjoy his signature rose Shirkhand with yogurt, rose jelly, and berries.
The Art of Seafood at Bait Al Bahr
At Muscat’s oldest seafood restaurant, guests will enjoy a culinary journey featuring the freshest catches from the Omani sea alongside breathtaking ocean views. Signature dishes include burrata, charred octopus, tuna sashimi, roasted seabass, and a delightful mango and lime crème brûlée.
Timeless Italian Flavors at Capri Court
Capri Court brings the diverse regions of Italy to life with homemade duck prosciutto, artisanal butternut gnocchi, grilled codfish, creamy risotto topped with seared scallops, and a rich chocolate ganache for dessert.
Vibrant Southeast Asian Cuisine at Chow Mee
Chow Mee offers a lively, family-style dining experience with bold flavors from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. The 6-course menu includes Panna Cotta with chicken salad, crispy fried fish with mango salad, Tom Yum prawn soup, traditional Thai beef Massaman curry, grilled seabass, and coconut flan for dessert.
Sail through the Mediterranean Seas at Sultanah
Sultanah celebrates the Mediterranean with a sophisticated menu inspired by the first Omani cruise liner that sailed to New York in 1840. The journey begins with a crab salad and pan-fried seabass, followed by salmon medallion in delicate broth. Mains feature roasted lamb loin and a trio of duck dishes, concluding with a rich dark chocolate fondant.
