The Great Indian Travel was a success. It was a grand event where buyers from all over the globe and sellers of tourism products met. The event saw participation by the biggest hotel chains, spas and tour operators etc. Many Indian states also participated and promoted their tourist-destinations.
The Great Indian Travel Bazaar is attended by exhibitors and buyers from all over the world. The exhibitors include Indian & international tour operators, hotel & spa owners, health care institutions and investors. Ministries related to tourism, transport and media also participate in the event.
If imagined, picture this to get an idea about the size of event- more than 253 booths, congregation of 270 tour operators from 50 countries and more than 500 tourism product sellers from India.
The mart was organized in Jaipur which is already a top tourist destination. This gives the event a bigger appeal. Everything at The Great Indian Travel Bazaar 2016 was well planned as the government wanted to leave no stone unturned to make India an even bigger draw for International tourists.
The event was a success and we believe that it will give a fillip to tourism in our country. GITB 2017 will be held from April 23 to 25 so the promoters better start planning already.
GITB 2016 in Jaipur from April 17-19
While opening the Great Indian Travel Bazar 2015 at Hotel The Lalit on April 19 in Jaipur, Vasundhara Raje, Chief Minister, Rajasthan, also announced the dates for GITB 2016. Raje announced that GITB 2016 will be held on April 17-19 in Jaipur. In her inaugural address, Raje talked about the importance of tourism for the state. Dr Jyotsna Suri, President, FICCI gave the welcome address and expressed her delight at GITB’s return to Jaipur after a gap of one year. She said that in the last 8 years, GITB has hosted 1,817 foreign tour operators and covered 50 countries. Usha Sharma, Additional Director General, Ministry of Tourism, talked about the ministry’s initiatives to boost tourism. Also present at the occasion were, Krishnendra Kaur, Rajasthan Minister of State for Tourism, Art and Culture; Shailendra Agarwal, Prinicpal Secretary, Tourism, Rajasthan; Randhir Vikram Singh, Co-Chairman, FICCI Rajasthan State Council; and A Didar Singh, Secretary General, FICCI. Dipak Deva, Co-Chairman, FICCI Tourism Committee, moderated the evening.
